1. The classroom equivalent of Mathematics Level Four CAI (formerly Math 30 CAI) is 125 hours. All the files for the delivery of Mathematics Level Four CAI are contained in Mathematics Level Four CAI folder.
2. For best results, you should copy the entire folder to your hard disk.
3. To launch the program from your hard disk, open the folder and double click on the file Mathematics Level Four Startup. The startup screen will ask you to enter your name. It will then check to see if the name you have entered is registered. If it is not, you will receive an error message.
4. To register a user name, pull down on the INSTRUCTOR menu and select REGISTRATION CONTROL. You will be asked to enter your password. Your password is RENO.
5. You will then be asked whether you want to change the registration...click the CHANGE button.
6. Enter the name of the disk on which you want to store student records and registrations (probably the name of your hard disk).
7. Enter the name of the folder in which all student registrations will be kept. I like (and use) the name Math Records.
8. Enter the name of the student you want to register.
9. Repeat steps 6 - 8 for every student you want to register. On completion of all registrations, click on the QUIT button.
10. While in the REGISTRATION CONTROL option, the user has the opportunity to specify the local course number which is used in the particular school jurisdiction. Once this has been done, students will see title pages throughout the course displaying the appropriate course number. For example, the Province of Manitoba may wish to use this feature to enter the number 300, which is the Manitoba course number for level 4 mathematics. To specify the local course number while in REGISTRATION CONTROL, click the COURSE NO. button and following the Mathematics > prompt enter the course number used in your jurisdiction, then press RETURN.
10. Now enter the name of a student who has been registered. You will be presented with the main menu of 7 units in this course. Double-click on a unit.
11. You will be presented with all of the topics in the selected unit. To take the tutorial, click on the word TUTORIAL...to take a test, click on the word TEST BANK.
